This Is Spinal Tap

I would like to represent the film 'This Is Spinal Tap' using the Limited Edition Cover Idea. (Please see revised 'Statement of Intent' post).
I feel that i can work with this film, not only because it uses three main characters, but also because i find it enjoyable and interesting.
Incidentally, the film is also coming up to it's 30th anniversary (1984), so it would be, potentially,  extremely relevant to Little White Lies Magazine.

Some of the current artwork around is mainly based on the main quotes and most memorable scenes from the film. For example:
"The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and... "
"Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?"
"Exactly."

Below are clear references to the above quote, but featured in a minimalist style which i have looked at previously in this project:

Now we move on to artwork influenced by scenes from the film, and in particular probably the most famous and therefore recognisable 'Stone Henge'.

Moving on to some original artwork. The first is clearly a photo live traced or of similar effect. But a similar stance to what i am looking to produce in terms or position perhaps at this stage.

Below are caricature's of the trio. Although i am not a practicing caricature artist, i don't think i will pursue this method of work as it doesn't relate to my portfolio, so there is no real point to me focusing too heavily on this piece, but it serves as an example of current Spinal Tap influenced work already out there.

Again we come to three more minimalist pieces of work which work well, particularly the first two, but only when they feature the title.
The final piece is really great, and although it doesn't show any images of the band members, it does reference the influential guitar used which people can identify the film with.
